This was a last minute choice, as my normal suite near the Albuquerque Sunport was unvailable thanks to problems with online travel website. The promised shuttle pickup was unavailable, and the suite I requested was unavailable as well. I was instead given a smoking, standard room and was not offered a refund. Due to my plans I didn't have time to find a new hotel. The room itself was shoddy threadbare, with a noisy A/C unit and not literature for dining, entertainment, etc. The only ice machine in operation was down on the main floor, and the daytime desk clerk had no idea any of them were out-of-order. The hot tub on both days I stayed was not at an appropriate temp, and the sauna was also not working. The view from the pool was of a mound of junked heating/ A/C units and what appeared to be a wheelbarrow. The room was quiet, however, and the free computer and Internet access use was benefit, as I left home without my laptop. Finally, on the day of my departure, the scheduled a shuttle to the airport for 1pm, but they called at 11:30 am and said that I could not stay over for 1 1/2 hours unless I paid for another night. A later check-out for most every hotel is always acceptable. This same desk clerk, however, was not helpful and said that the manager was 'not on the property today.' She was rude about the whole request. There are plenty of rooms in Albuquerque -- save yourself the trouble and avoid the Econo Lodge Inns and Suites near the airport.
