I stayed at the hotel one night before the early flight next morning on Oct 05, 2009. Although it looks somewhat ordinary from outside, the room was contemporary and very cozy. Excellent bathroom. Sound-proof windows. Didn't have any problems with a shuttle service. Excellent breakfast, but beware that it is $* Euro, not complimentary. One of the little annoying things was the absence of a radio or an alarm clock in the room. The TV set apparently had a built-in alarm clock, but it wasn't clear how either to get in working or to just turn on the TV. A wake-up service, though, was efficient. Internet was available 24 hrs. in the main lobby. Overall, very good experience.

The Hotel Mercure features extremely pleasant, competent staff. When I arrived, my reservation was in the computer, and check-in was quick and easy. The room was acceptable. The television did not work. Overnight the room was quite stuffy and the air was close. By the time I determined that the air conditioning and fan were not doing much, it was past midnight. I filled out a maintenance card for both TV and air conditioning and left it at the hotel desk the next morning. The hotel restaurant served some excellent German seasonal specialties, and again the personnel were extremely helpful. The hotel shuttle is available from 5:00 am to provide transportation to the airport. I would stay at this hotel again if I had a flight leaving the next day.

1. The hotel is not located where its postal address is. My taxi driver from out of town got lost. 2. The hotel lacks free wireless internet. In fact, my room had no internet conntectivity at all.3. No posting of the high cost (14E) for breakfast.4. Hotel took care of cab fare to airport when the shuttle service was down.

This was a good hotel to stay at especially if you want to be near the airport. They have a free shuttle. The service was good and the room was spacious. I liked it. Even tho the name of this hotel has changed to the Merkur.

Hotel was clean and neat. Had sauna and outside pool. Pool was cold though in June. Gym equipment room. Food was good in the restaurant. The best thing about the hotel is that it was close to the airport with a transport to the airport. Staff was friendly.
