My sister and I had spent 4 days at an inexpensive hotel so on the our last night we thought we would splurge. Every penny of the $* usd was well worth it. The bellman introduced us to the floor butler who in turn explained in detail all of his services. Fresh peach roses and a fruit plate greeted us. The beautiful standar room was so large I thought it was a junior suite. Had 2 closets with lights that turned on and off with opening and closing door. Bathroom had a large whirlpool tub with flat screen TV. Lights had dimmer on for romance. Large shower. White leather stool at vanity. Hermes bath products. 110 VOLT outlet in bathroom. Both of us took a long bubble bath. When we came back from going out to dinner we had new towels. All our stuff on bathroom counter was nicely arranged. Our clothes had been picked up and folded including panites. And of course the beds were turned down. The beds were really too soft but after sleeping on hard beds previously they felt wonderful. 500 thread count and all the pillows helped too. Within 10 minutes of returning from dinner our doorbell rang with our complimentary wine and cheese plate. Next morining expansive Champaign Breakfast buffet was included with room. Unbelieveable. Printed material said only the first 20min would be free on the interent in business center. I went in after hours with room key so access was unlimited. All staff spoke English. Front desk exchanged cash dollars to pesos with NO FEE. When leaving doorman expressed concern for our safety. Had Alvear been in US or Europe we would have paid 4-5 times more for service recieved. Will return next winter.
