This hotel is centrally located with a nice suite arrangement. The living and dining area were large. The staff was very helpful. It is co-located with a retail area below an adjoining office building. I would definitely stay here again.

I can't see how this hotel could be rated 4 stars...In our first room, the bed sagged and squeeked. We got an immediate room change. The new room had the TV around the corner from the bed, so we couldn't watch it except from the couch. The furniture looked 10 or more years old. The appliances could have used an upgrade as well: the microwave was from the year before the rotating plate holder. Some of the wall paper was peeling. It was difficult to get to the lower parking levels: different doors, elevators, etc. It was $15 daily parking, which should have been included for hotel guests, as many business people park there, also. An internet cable had to be borrowed for $10 with a daily internet fee of about $10. Local calls were $1.25, which was not indicated on phone itself. Too much nickel and dimeing. This was a package deal from Travel agency online. I'd consider a different hotel next time. But guess what? We got a complimentary newspaper every morning! And, there was a 24-hour grocery store inside the building.

Amiable front desk personnel upgraded my wife and I to a splendid room overlooking the river and park. We used their excellent gourmet restaurant used during the evening and for Sunday brunch. The brunch had a wide choice of tasty breakfast and lunch dishes. Location was within safe, walking distance of most of the downtown museums, government buildings and churches we wanted to visit. The Minton was perfect!

Went to Ottawa Blues Festival and was able to walk home from concert. My only complaint was the smoking smell in the room, but otherwise a nice place. Liked the apples at the front desk.

We have stayed at the Minto several times in the past. This is a luxury suites hotel at affordable prices with excellent and friendly service. We have never had a complaint about this site and would recommend it to anyone with any size family. Our superior one bedroom suite on the 25th floor overlooked the river and Hull across the way. It is beautiful inside and out and in a terrific location.
