    This is a very beautiful decorated hotel and very historic. We arrived at 12:00 and a room was ready for us to check into. The hotel is very close to Shannon Airport and easy to get to. The front desk he was very helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommened this hotel. The restaurant was very good also. I only wish this hotel was closer to home to stay at again. Like the USA.

    Just spent a night at the Oak Wood Arms Hotel. There is a gas station with a nice selection of goodies right beside the hotel, probably a 4-5 min drive to the airport, very handy. The room was clean and comfortable. Never have I seen a hotel with so much 'social area'. Big leather chairs and couches everywhere to sit in and have a drink. Bar and restaurant very nice, menu ok. There is FREE internet with a printer to print out your boarding passes. The only negative thing I can say is that there is no air conditioning, however, of my 6 different hotels on this trip 4 did not have airconditioning. One real positive is when I checked in I was given a key to a non smoking room, when I got to the room it smelled of smoke. I went to the car with my daughter and returned to the room. We discussed it and thought we could stay in the room. Upon returning to the room we felt it was just too 'stinky' so I went to the front desk and was immediately given a different room, no hassles or questions asked. You simply cannot beat that service. She said apparently someone must have smoked in the non-smoking room. Being a motel owner I understand this does happen, as aggravating as it is. If I were in the Shannon area wanting a place to stay, esp close to the airport, I would for sure stay here.
